Muse were one of the few rock acts to pick up an accolade at the VMAs this weekend, taking home the gong for best SFX for “Uprising.”
Despite that though they’re a huge act the world over. Today the Last.fm Trends team dug around their back catalog to see which records have done the best among their legion of fans.
Muse has always been one of the strongest performers at Last.fm. Today they boast 181,001,430 scrobbles – that’s plays at Last.fm – from 2,463,055 listeners, numbers that rise every day. With a string of hits across an 11-year career it’s a tough battle for the top of their chart.
While Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry performed well, it’s with 2003’s Absolution that they really hit the big time, and that album is still their most played by Last.fm listeners.
The Resistance is rising, with 15% of the total, but Black Holes and Revelations is the closest challenger to Absolution‘s crown. As the scrobbles come in it could yet squeeze in at the top.
