Two outstanding members of the modern rock scene, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kim Gordon[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Thurston Moore[/lastfm] this weekend announced the end of their marriage. Their musical partnership in [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Sonic Youth[/lastfm] has lasted for thirty years, but its future is now uncertain.

Best known for “Into The Groove(y)”, their cover of Madonna’s “Into The Groove,” Ciccone Youth existed briefly in the 1980s and performed various experimental cover versions.

Free Kitten
386,299 plays (47,223 listeners)
Formed in the 1990s and releasing latest album Inherit in 2008, Free Kitten features Kim Gordon as well as members from Boredoms, Pussy Galore and Pavement.

Lee Ranaldo
148,651 plays (29,729 listeners)
Guitarist and vocalist in Sonic Youth, Ranaldo’s solo output is prolific. Releasing solo since 1987, he’s also produced fellow experimental artists.
