Enjoyed the BLACK BOX REVELATION very much “High on A Wire” nice blues rock sound to it. With the recent success of Black Keys in the alternative radio market, i can see this band sticking around should they receive a little airplay. 3.25 popcorns
Enjoyed the GIRL IN A COMA’s track “Smart” as well. I saw them open for MORRISSEY at Rams Head in 2007, and actually got a chance to talk to the singer and the band after the show as they headed for their bus. Got a picture with her, and a button. The picture is still on the facebook somewhere i think. But point being I’ve enjoyed this band for a few years now, and this track is a little more polished than thier previous work, but more mature also. Good song. (I also found it VERY ironic, that a band called GIRL IN A COMA was opening for Morrissey! HA ) 3.25 popcorns
SLEEPER AGENT” Get Burned not bad. but not not my fav of the bunch. Reminds me a little of WOLFGANG A PHEONIX 2 point seven popcorns
SAINT MOTEL “Puzzle Pieces” the piano/ synt combo is nice. Like it also. 3.25 poprorns
DEAD MILKMEN “Fauxhemia” I had no idea they still made songs! Ok well this is a fun one. ANgry as well. A little too simple for my liking tho lyrically, but thats sorta of thier thing you know. NOt sure why he hate poor Norah. But that ok, there are a lot artists I just don’t get, as she is one that i have never really connected with either so i understand the point of the song. ITs ok. Not excellent of anything tho. 2.5 popcorns
THE FEATURES “How it starts” enoyable track from this Tenenesse band 3.25 popcorns
WAVvES “Bug” not really into this one. parties no fun. crashing. c’mon. man no fun. im no fun. grow up. lifes not fun. but then again i am a fan of morrissey, the clash, and pearl jam. seriously sad artists so this maybe just isnt for me. but i dont like a lot of those ca bands. Too laid back and care free for me. 2 popcorns
Will do the rest later. GTG. nice set jenn.

Chris, it’s not just ironic that Girl In A Coma was opening for Morrissey…because he personally asked them to do so! They’re on Joan Jett’s label, Blackheart Records, so she obviously digs ‘em, too.

The reason why you didn’t know that The Dead Milkmen still makes songs…is because they haven’t been making any! The King in Yellow is their first studio album in 16 years.
