If you haven’t heard of [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Alabama Shakes[/lastfm] by now, well, that’s on you, because in the past few months they have taken the blogosphere by storm and won over legions of fans worldwide.

To make it even more impressive, the Shakes have gotten this far based on the strength of their four-track EP–well, that and a soul rumbling live show that earned them praise as the best new band of 2011 by Paste, a session with Jack White, and countless sold out shows across the globe. That self titled EP even landed them in Street Date’s own best albums of 2011 list.

This week Alabama Shakes announced the release date of their full length debut Boys & Girls. Not only that, they sat down with our friends at Myspace to talk about their whirlwind year and to burn through about five bucks on a deep cut jukebox. You can check that out in the video below.
