It’s been all change in the Limp Bizkit camp as of late with news that the band has inked a new record deal with Cash Money Records.

Frontman Fred Durst recently confirmed the news on Twitter that the rap-metal veterans had partnered up with the label – run by rappers Bryan ‘Birdman‘ Williams and Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams. Trends looks at how the band scrobbled in 2011 – the year that latest album Gold Cobra was released.

Despite being well accustomed to bridging the gap between rock and rap, belonging to a label containing Lil’ Wayne, Jay Sean and Nicki Minaj is sure to be a new challenge for the Florida crew.

Their long awaited comeback in 2011 was marked with the release of sixth studio album Gold Cobra at the end of June. With the mass widespread success of their earlier material it was always going to be hard for the album to live up to that. Only three songs from the album’s sixteen feature in the band’s latest top weekly tracks chart – those being “Gold Cobra” (451,057 total scrobbles), “Shotgun” (355,095 total scrobbles) and “Bring It Back” (282,951 total scrobbles).

Despite this, the album on the whole has scrobbled very well. With its current total at 2,933,513 scrobbles it actually overtakes seminal 1997 debut Three Dollar Bill, Ya’ll$. Scrobbles for Limp Bizkit over the past twelve months show that Gold Cobra took them to just over 700,000 weekly scrobbles before settling down to around 150,000 scrobbles a week.
