Diehard Stone Temple Pilots fans can “possibly” have something to celebrate. According to guitarist, Dean DeLeo, him and frontman Scott Weiland talked about a tour dedicated to their album Core–which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

To give fans more hope, on the tour dates section of Stone Temple Pilot’s website it says, “Stay tuned for 2012 tour dates!”

[pullquote quote=”Scott and I were just talking a couple of weeks ago, and we’d like to go out there and perform (Core) in its entirety.”]”Scott and I were just talking a couple of weeks ago, and we’d like to go out there and perform [Core] in its entirety,” Dean DeLeo told a New Jersey radio station.

When asked if Stone Temple Pilots were working on a follow-up to 2010’s self-titled album, DeLeo said,    “Possibly. We’re just kind of enjoying home life right now and enjoying our kids.”

This isn’t the first time Stone Temple Pilots have mentioned honoring their début album. Last year,  Weiland told Fox New York that they’re “doing a lot of special things.”

“[There’s] a lot of archival footage that we’re putting together, a coffee table book, hopefully a brand new album- so many ideas,” continued the frontman. “A box set and then a tour, of course.”

1992’s Core, the début album for Stone Temple Pilots, includes songs like “Sex Type Thing,” “Wicked Garden,” “Creep,” and “Plush.”

Certified eight time platinum, Core is Stone Temple Pilot’s best-selling album and, according to a Rolling Stone interview, one of the only albums that Weiland has written sober.
