What began decades ago as a PBS television show highlighting Texas singers and songwriters, has morphed into a massive 3-day music festival featuring today’s most relevant artists.

For the past ten years, Austin City Limits has engulfed Austin’s central public park with 70,000 fans enjoying rock, indie, country, folk and electronic music on a whopping eight stages.

Produced by the same team that orchestrates Lollapalooza, this year’s festival will take place October 12-14 with VIP tickets on sale today. VIP is really your only bet to get in as regular 3-day tickets have been reserved by email subscribers. See the website for more details.

The full line-up was just announced and boasts over 100 acts, many of which are big enough to headline.

The date rounds out the Chili Peppers’ already busy summer tour schedule. Teh boys from L.A. are slated to play the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee, Summerfest in Milwaukee, Rock Werchter Festival in Belgium, Heineken Jammin’ Festival in Italy, Rock In Rio Madrid Festival in Spain, Lollapalooza in Chicago and Rock Im Pott in Germany in addition to 55 stop world tour.
