Punk icons Rancid have released a series of summer tour dates alongside Transplants, the super-group featuring the band’s frontman Tim Armstrong and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. There is no indication if Barker will be part of the tour.
Launching in Detroit on June 11, the tour swings through Canada for a pair of dates in Toronto and Quebec before returning to America for shows in Boston (June 16-17), The Fillmore in Silver Spring (June 19), New York (June 20-21) and Philadelphia (June 22), wrapping up in Norfolk, VA on June 23. The band Crown of Thornz is scheduled to open all of the shows.
Just this week, Transplants debuted the title track from their forthcoming album, In A War Zone as a free download. While there is no firm release date for the record, the band took to their Facebook page in January to say, “New album out in May.”
While Armstrong has been steadily releasing new music as Tim Timebomb and Friends, in February Rancid posted a photo to their Facebook page from a studio with the statement, “recording has begun.”
