Tonight’s HFS Locals Only Spotlight features Baltimore electropop duo LAZERBITCH.

Electropop may be one of the hot trends in alternative rock right now, but LAZERBITCH has been doing it locally for years, and building a huge following in the process. LAZERlibby and Mad Max, both of whom have also released records of their own, have been a mainstay of the dancier side of city’s local music scene for over a decade, have played in just about every club in the city, and have shared the stage with a wide variety of bands from all over the region.

LAZERBITCH has a number of originals under their belt (and even a Fugazi cover), but the favorite of fans and critics has been 2009’s “Coquette”, so that’s what we’re sharing with you tonight. Check out the video–featuring LAZERlibby doing as she pleases to passersby on the streets of midtown Baltimore before taking over the stage at The Windup Space on North Avenue–and if it hooks you, head to their website to download the song (in fact, many of their songs) for free…then check them out at an upcoming live show:

  • June 8th at The ParadoxDeep Sugar “I Loved You” EP release party, featuring a live performace by LAZERlibby with DJ Shawn Q
  • June 15th at The 8×10 – MD Animal Sanctuary Music For Mutts Benefit, featuring an acoustic set by LAZERlibby with Navid of the Data Frogs (get tickets now)

And if you’ve got a local band you’d like us to feature on the HFS Locals Only Spotlight weeknights at 8 PM, here’s how to get your stuff to us.
