The Top 5 Performances from the 2014 Alternative Press Music Awards

The first-ever Gibson Brands Alternative Press Music Awards went off without a hitch yesterday (July 21) outside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame And Museum in Cleveland, Ohio. Hosted by Mark Hoppus, CM Punk and Juliet Simms and broadcast live on AXS TV, the nearly 4-hour awards show was a who’s who of Warped Tour and alt rock staples.

Fall Out Boy, Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco, Slash and Pierce the Veil were among the big winners at the ceremony, with the former four-piece scoring a nod for artist of the year. Slash additionally received the awards’ Guitar Legend honor.

But as with most music awards ceremonies, the trophies weren’t the only form of entertainment. The AP Music Awards included a number of live performances, some of which featured intriguing collaborations between artists old and new, similar and not-so-similar.

Here are our top five highlights of the evening. Check out Alternative Press for full coverage of the evening’s festivities.
