Two Former Members of Pussy Riot Suing the Russian Government After Imprisonment

It doesn’t take an introductory level political science class as an undergrad that you often slept through to know that global relations with Russia are tense at the moment. So, don’t feel bad if you lost sight of the Pussy Riot story, the punk band that protested in a church and wound up in a prison.

Two of the members have since been freed, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, and they are not satisfied with that outcome alone.

The pair has announced they will be suing the Russian government for €120,000 each in compensation, as well as €10,000 in court fees, reports NME.
