In a new interview Jack White told Dan Rather, “I sort of enjoy when people get me wrong, even when sometimes it makes me upset, I still kind sort of enjoy when people misunderstand me. It’s funny to me.”

But on Rather’s The Big Interview, White is trying to set things straight about his life, work and persona.

In the near-hour long interview, White talks about songwriting, religion and what it means to have “Seven Nation Army” become a sports anthem. Something White talked about with KROQ (a CBS Radio station) earlier this year.

He even gives Rather a tour of his Third Man Records and in an outtake from the episode explains Third Man’s color scheme, explaining that the yellow, white and black was something that carried over from his early job as an upholsterer.

In an outtake from the interview, White says he’s never, ever done drugs, not even marijuana, which Rather finds very surprising.
