The trailer for Southpaw is out, and though Eminem’s not it, he’s… sort of in it? His voice certainly is.

Rumors have been flying for a long time that Eminem would be cast in a new film called Southpaw, about an old boxer facing career difficulties. He was first attached in 2010, when the film was first announced.

However, he dropped out after a scheduling conflict caused a delay, and he wasn’t able to make it to shooting. Now the film is finally on the verge of release, and a trailer has emerged with Jake Gyllenhaal playing the lead.

Eminem isn’t entirely out of the film, though—the trailer features a never-before-heard Eminem song; it’s a triumphant, gritty song with a heavy bass line.

While there’s no title for the song yet, the chorus prominently includes the word “phenomenal.”

That isn’t Southpaw’s only rap connection: 50 Cent also stars in the film as Gyllenhaal’s character’s agent. 50 Cent has to lay down the law when Gyllenhaal starts to lose it after his daughter is taken away by the courts.

No word on if the Eminem song will be included on the Southpaw soundtrack.
