Slipknot’s Corey Taylor Covers the Cure’s ‘Lovesong’ on Acoustic Tour

Last night, Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor kicked off an acoustic tour promoting his new book You’re Making Me Hate You: A Cantankerous Look at the Common Misconception That Humans Have Any Common Sense Left.

During the show he did a bunch of songs from his catalog, as well as a number of surprising covers, perhaps most notably a rendition of The Cure‘s “Lovesong.”

Never thought you’d see the guy from Slipknot do a Cure cover? Such was the evening, which also included a Pink Floyd medley; Green Day‘s “Pulling Teeth”; Alice In Chains‘ “Nutshell”; and Prince‘s “Little Red Corvette.”

The show was supposed to begin with him reading from his book, but instead he just took the stage to riff on new things that bother him. And yes, there was a short talk about Kanye West‘s claim that he’s the biggest rock star in the world.
