Using the Economic Policy Institute’s family budget calculator, which uses the outline of two parents and two kids, research engine FindTheHome created a cost of living index to compare over 600 US cities.

Here’s how much you need to earn to live comfortably in 15 major US cities while still saving money…

Want to live in Chicago? The estimated cost of annual necessities is $65,700.

What about living in nice, sunny Los Angeles? Estimated cost of annual necessities: $70,704!

Ok, but what about the east coast? What about our hometown of Baltimore, Maryland? Estimated cost of annual necessities…$71,196. It costs more to live here than the west coast? Maybe it’s time for a great migration.
