Although it has long been rumored, Iggy Pop and Josh Homme confirmed today (Jan. 21) that they will be releasing an album together.

Speaking with the New York Times, Homme admitted the two collaborated on the self-financed album Post Pop Depression, which is due out on March from Loma Vista records. Pop said, “We paid for whatever ourselves. But it was made to be heard—not to be some quirky thing that we did with our own money, ha-ha.”

The venture all began with a text message. Homme reached out to Pop, writing, “Hey, it would be great if we got together and maybe write something sometime—Iggy.” The two began working on the project in January 2015.

Homme said following the Paris attacks, which involved his band Eagles of Death Metal (he wasn’t performing with them at the time), the album with Iggy became a lifeline. “The fact that I had this to work on, it saved me,” he said.
